After you have cracked open your bottle of Baileys, do you need to find a spot for it in your already overcrowded refrigerator? No, per Baileys. The liquor maker states that a bottle of Baileys needs to be kept in a place that can range in temperature from 32 degrees F to 77 degrees F.

Does Bailey's Irish Cream go bad or expire? Generally as long as you don't subject it to temperature extremes it will last well beyond the official 2 year "best taste before" date. Over time the taste will change and the liquid tends to go a bit darker but only really noticeable if you do a side by side comparison.

Why did my homemade Irish cream curdle? ›

Recipe Tip

Avoid curdling – I did some research as to ensure a life free of curdling and it's all about adding the alcohol slowly and being sure to use heavy cream. Alcohol is an acid so making irish cream with, say, whole milk will definitely break the milk, which could result in some serious coagulation.

What alcohol is in Irish cream? ›

Original Irish Cream blends Irish whiskey and spirits with Irish dairy cream and a touch of rich chocolate and vanilla flavours. Pour over ice cream, mix into coffee, or enjoy it with ice for an originally delish Baileys moment.

Bailey's Irish Cream served with cherries and unsalted nuts. You need your protein and fiber when you're drinking that much sugar!

What does Baileys curdle with? ›

The acidic lime juice causes the cream-based Baileys to curdle. The curdled Baileys does not taste sour, but it does rapidly gain viscosity and stick to the drinker's teeth, reminiscent of cement. For a sweeter taste, two shot glasses, one of lemonade and one of Baileys, can be used.

What alcohol curdles with Baileys? ›

Drinks like the Cement Mixer (Baileys and lime juice), the Brain Hemorrhage (Baileys, peach schnapps, and grenadine), and the somewhat offensively named Irish Car Bomb (a twist on a boiler maker with Baileys, Jameson, and Guinness) all curdle upon mixing, making part of the "appeal" the unpleasant texture, nauseating ...

Is it OK to drink Baileys straight? ›

Irish cream liqueur is wonderfully versatile. It's so rich and full of flavour, so one of the best ways to drink it is straight or over ice, and just savour the taste of the liqueur. It's also great as an ingredient in shooters, co*cktails and warm drinks like coffee and hot chocolate. Here are a few of our favourites!

Why shouldn't you pour Baileys down the drain? ›

The liqueur can stick to the pipes and block the U bend under your sink, preventing liquid from passing through. An overflowing sink is not exactly what you want on Christmas Day (and let's not get started on the plumber call-out fee). Cream liqueur should be disposed of like any other fats and oils.
