I am not crazy about spicy foods, but Chris puts hot sauce on all kinds of things so I have gotten used to trying to incorporate it into different dishes. I love spicy buffalo wings and hot wings, but I had never made them on my own.
I was chatting with my friend Stefani about hot wings and she told me about a great (and super easy) recipe for homemade hot wings using hot sauce and I was so excited to try it out!
Spicy Garlic Hot Wings Recipe with Texas Pete Hot Sauce
Texas Pete also has wing sauces, but I wanted to get really creative and use my friend's recipe. In addition to the Texas Pete wing sauces, they also have a Hotter hot sauce, a garlic hot sauce, CHA! by Texas Pete sriracha sauce and a green pepper sauce.
I have a feeling that once Chris tastes these Spicy Garlic Hot Wings with the Texas Pete Hot Sauce, we are going to have to try all of the others too!

ThisSpicy Garlic Hot Wings recipewith Texas Pete Hot Sauce is incredibly simple. You can either start out with precooked chicken wings (no sauce or seasoning) from your local grocery store or just buy regular uncooked chicken wings.
I bought the precooked wings because it was just easier than firing up my mini fryer, but that it totally up to you! Just fry up your chicken wings as you normally would (without any seasoning or flour) and set aside, then continue with my recipe below.
How to Make Spicy Garlic Hot Wings Recipe with Texas Pete Hot Sauce
Ingredients needed to make this Spicy Garlic Hot Wings Recipe
- 20 precooked chicken wing pieces
- 1 6 ounce bottle of Texas Pete Hot Sauce
- 1 heaping tablespoon of minced garlic
- 1 stick of butter

Directions for making this Spicy Garlic Hot Wings Recipe
Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Lay the chicken pieces on the aluminum foil and bake for about ten minutes, until heated throughand the skins are crisp.
In a microwave safe bowl, heat butter and minced garlic at one minute intervals until the butter is completely melted.
Stir in the Texas Pete Hot Sauce (the entire bottle) and whisk until it's completely combined.
Add the chicken wings to the bowl of hot sauce mixture and toss until each piece is completely saturated in the garlic hot sauce.
Serve while still hot!

I think that you will love them! I don't really like spicy food too much, so I used more butter than hot sauce. LOL!! Stefani said to use more hot sauce to make it spicier. 🙂

How do you get the sauce to stick to the wings? I have this problem with every meat or even pasta sauce/seasoning/marinade. Is it supposed to be super watery? How can I make it creamy as well as adherent? thank you!
