Sirius XM Deep Tracks moved (2024)

Sirius/XM moved the Deep Tracks channel to an internet/app only channel. I listen to that channel probably 80% of the time.

Now my factory radio in my Jeep, my portable XM player, and my Polk component tuner no longer can play my favorite station. I'll probably keep the subscription for the car but the other two units will likely get dropped.

Deep Tracks always seemed a crown jewel in the XM lineup. I'm surprised it's getting shunted off the original platform.

I don't like it. I'll let them know via listener feedback that I'm not pleased and request they reverse their decision. Then hopefully make it clear to them by dumping radio subscriptions I've happily paid for for almost 20 years.

Deep Tracks now streams on channel 308. I hope they didn't remove it from the sat rad as that's my go to station as well in my truck.

One of the stations I like is Yacht Rock, which used to be channel 14, but moved to channel 311. No big deal, right? Except that my "new" 2018 Buick Encore Infotainment system tuner will only go to channel 235 for Sirius XM! Sure, I can listen to Yacht Rock by connecting through the APP on my iPhone, but I really don't want to for just one station! Another channel that just moved is The Blend, which went from channel 17 to 27. Not a problem, as it's programmed as a "favorite" in my Encore, so changed automatically!

My car came with a trial subscription that they neglected to turn off for well over a year.
It was cool driving from upstate NY to Indy (and back) for MotoGP and never changing the radio station.

That's gonna piss me off, as that's one of my go-tos also. If not streaming off the app via my junk cell fone, I'm using an older receiver head that moves between car, house & garage that has limited station capacity. . I don't at all want to cancel my service though, (even if it's too costly) because terrestrial/ commercial radio sucks, especially in n.e. ohio.

A ton of crap must have moved, both my wife's and my XM in our cars is displaying either new or blank channels.

Deep tracks is one of my favorites. I haven't checked our cars yet to see if I can pick up the new "high band" channel. Good article on Rolling Stone.

Well I won't have to worry about renewing my sirius subscription when it comes up. I can confirm that deep tracks is now a streaming only channel. Channel line up in my truck goes from 308 to 310 and 309 isn't even listed.

Raise hell if it matters to you. There is a spot on their site for programming input. They could fix this immediately. There's still enough of us to matter if they know we care.

Both of our cars can still get Deep Tracks. Channel 308 as noted earlier. Sirius XM Deep Tracks moved (9)

Agree it seems like all the good channels disappear or change to streaming Sirius only. They bumped “The Joint” (reggae) to stream and the Bob Marley channel has way too much hip hop for my definition of reggae. Frankly the dj style of presentation borders on classic radio, not ad free subscription content. My wife purchased a one year subscription for my car I’m not likely to rene.

I listen to the Bridge quite a bit too, it moved. I noticed the day before it moved that they really played excellent song choices. Today it was just ok, back to the normal hit and miss. Still a good channel for out in the garage.

The Bridge is better than it needs to be for it's intended purpose. It occasionally surprises and they don't play junk. Comfortable when I'm in the mood to wind down. It just does not belong in it's spot. Deep Tracks does.

They seem to have a plethora of worthless channels - like 90% have negative appeal to me - but I presume they're trying to have something for everyone.

Does this happen to you - on my 2011 Audi whenever they revisse their listings some or all of my presets are empty and I have to reload them.
It's a PITA for sure.

That could be why the service is called SiriusXM and not w1jim.

I'm so ancient I still listen in the car on a Delphi SKYFi2 from back when it was technically just XM before the merger. From the debut of satellite in the early 2000s, niche channels have disappeared, but can't say I saw Deep Tracks going away just yet.

With streaming taking over, the XM and Sirius satellites are destined to burn up in the atmosphere. Plus satellite radio can't track you. New cars with internet know everywhere you go and everything you listen to.
